It was apart of our New Testament in 1 year Plan

The Bible Speaks Of An Unknown Person That Would Be Remember…

This Women’s Deed Gave her… An Eternal Memorial

Such A High Priority Is Her Deed That JESUS Said This About Her..

Matthew 26:13

Literal Standard VersionTruly I say to you, wherever this gospel may be proclaimed in the whole world,

what this [one] did will also be spoken of—for a memorial of her.”

What Deed Is Worthy Of Eternal Remembrance?

LET ME DISPLAY WITH A TRUE STORY…

An eight-year-old boy had a younger sister who was dying of leukemia, and he was told that without a blood transfusion she would die. His parents explained to him that his blood was probably compatible with hers, and if so, he could be the blood donor. They asked him if they could test his blood. He said sure. So they did and it was a good match.

Then they asked if he would give his sister a pint of blood, that it could be her only chance of living.

He said he would have to think about it overnight.

The next day he went to his parents and said he was willing to donate the blood. So they took him to the hospital where he was put on a gurney beside his six-year-old sister. Both of them were hooked up to IVs. A nurse withdrew a pint of blood from the boy, which was then put in the girl’s IV.

The boy lay on his gurney in silence while the blood dripped into his sister, until the doctor came over to see how he was doing.

Then the boy opened his eyes and asked, “How soon until I start to die?”

Believing that he would die, yet willing to give his own blood to his sister.

That is sacrifice!

That is one form of sacrificial giving!

These Is the Essence of this Deed Jesus Spoke about..

As We Read Mathew 26:6

What Makes This Women’s SACRAFICE WORTY TO ALWAYS BE REMEMBER

-       It not that is was One Year Wages

-       It Not that She Brought Her Best and not her least

-       It is not that she gave beyond a spirit of Gratitude for being set free

WHY WILL SHE ALWAYS BE REMEBERED..

-       SHE GAVE HER SACRAFICE TO GOD!!

She Put Worth In Her Worship!!

MOTIVATING FACTOR FOR SACRAFICAL GIVING..

SHE Knew what Her Forgiven was worth…

-       Can you put a price on all that the Sins we have been forgiven.

This woman gave beyond spirit of gratitude.

She had been set free from dark and deep sins

How Can You Put Worth In Your Worship…

She Gave In Connection to her ETERNAL FUTURE…

ALASBASTER JAR was liken to a Saving…

It was either something you Inherited in most cases Put Aside.

It was to be used for A Future Marriage, which in Jewish cultures all women Dreamed to be married.

In Jewish Tradition, when the young girl was ready for marriage, her family would purchase an alabaster box and fill it full of expensive ointments and oils.  How big the box was and how much it weighed was a symbol of how big the offering would be for the marriage of the daughter.  When a man came and asked for the girl's hand in marriage, she would then take out the alabaster box and break it at his feet, anointing them with the oil, a sign of her honoring his request.

That seems a little old school.. but the Husband could not marry Until he had a home and a Salary to take care of His family forever..

So When She gave Her Alabaster Jar and Poured it on Jesus..

she LAYedher DREAMS AT GOD'S heart..

“It was a Beautiful Thing”

She Gave Her offering to the One She Felt would eternally be her companion.

In This Moment  She Gave Her Savings…. To Her SAVIOR!

She Gave In Connection To Her Eternity

She Gave In Connection to God’s Majesty

-       She was no stranger to Jesus…

-       She had heard all his Teaching

-       She had completely believed he was the messiah

-       She understood He Would be buried…

Matthew 26: 12

When she poured this perfume on my body,

she did it to prepare me for burial.

This are Not just random words that Caught her by surprise. God knows are thought

“She Heard what the disciples have been hearing that He would be Crucified even so in

In Two Days”

Matthew 26:2

“The Son of Man of man will be handed over to be crucified”

-       Yes she gave in connection to the to the majesty of what she’s going to inherit in connection to the future glories and the abundance she would receive.

All Jews Boy and Girls would Sing this verse..

The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty;the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength;indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.

She Gave Sacrificially Because that the ONLY WAY TO GIVE TO MAJESTY!!!

MAJESTY: ACTS OF ROYALTY..  - a king, queen, emperor, or empress —

SHE GAVE TO MAJESTY, AND GOD LOOKED AT THIS SACRIFICE AS MAJESTIC

Majesty is the quality of being beautifuldignified, and impressive.

THIS MOMENT THOUGH DISCIPLE WERE TO CARNAL TO SEE THIS.. WAS AN ACT OF ….  grandeurglorysplendormagnificence!

THE LESSON…

Our level of giving, with out us knowing, Show God how we perceive him

This Lady gave sacrificially and sacredly and secretly to her King, Her Eternal Emperor..

We sometimes give to God like he is a Landlord…

-       We are in his house and hey we Got to pay the rent..

If we have an elevated view we give to God like he is Magical Miricale worker.. we give 10 buck then he will triple it..

Yet, we are giving to MAJESTY

-       The One who produces daily Sun rase,

-       then one who formed your spouse,

-       the one who breath life into our children.

sacrificial giving is WILL LAY THE foundation that FOR YOUR HOME IN HEAVEN…  to build a strong or EVERLASTING FUTURE for your destiny.

KING IN MAJESTY…  David Spoke In Building An Alter for The Majesty of GOD.. “KING OF KING”

“I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing”

(2 Samuel 24:24).

  • “It is not giving of items that we no longer use or want (that is just slimming down). It is…giving of assets, items, money that is accounted for and being used regularly…these are items that we really want to OR need to hold onto, but in this sacrificial situation, the need is greater elsewhere than in your possession.”

  • Sacrificial giving makes NO sense, YET, it totally makes sense because it is meeting the NEED of another, and this sacrificial gift is unto the LORD WHO WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER!

RECAP:

She Put Worth In Her Worship!!

-       SHE Knew what Her Forgiven was worth…

-       She Gave In Connection to her ETERNAL FUTURE…

-       She Gave In Connection to God’s Majesty

This Was Amazingly Significant – SACRAFICIAL GIVING HAS SIGNIFICANCE..

This Act Was done in A Spirit of Worship, Yet in a Place of Glory!!

BETHANY is “house of affliction” or “poor-house”

-       This Place would soon be healed from there affliction through the Cross of Christ

-       The Poor would soon receive eternal blessing if they would believe in Christ.

BETHANY Is the Vicinity were 50 Days Later

Jesus also ascended into heaven.

This Final Act was significant..

2nd Significance..

The Act of Sacrificial Giving occur 3 Times..

This Sacrificial Given Acknowledges An Prepare for A Great Work of God!!

JEWISH CULTURE… IN Choosing the Passover lamb

Passover lambs were chosen six days in advance. This allowed them to be brought in, often into the family home and inspected for five days. They were inspected to ensure that they were free from blemish, including the legs, ankles, and feet, as they are easily damaged or marked in the rocky hillsides. At this point, the would take the anointing oil and rub it into the ankles and feet, prior to them being inspected for a further 5 days.

So six days before the Passover, (John 12:1)  Jesus is at someone’s house in Bethany and He is anointed for burial by having pure nard rubbed on His feet and ankles. That was His first anointing prior to His crucifixion.

The second anointing happens two days before Passover. The Passover lamb was anointed this second time on their head to announce that they were free from disease or blemish.

This is in contrast to the first time which was on their feet six days before.

The head of Jesus was anointed two days before He was crucified and was a sign that He was well, without sickness or defect or blemish.. This is how She Saw HIM!

The first Passover lamb anointing was on the feet six days before Passover; the second anointing was on the head two days before, and then the Passover lambs were sacrificed on Passover (which is Nissan 14) from the ninth hour.

This Alabaster JAR Not Only Was it 1 Year Wages…

THERE VERY EXPENSIVE OIL WAS THE ELEMENT FOR THE ANOINTING…

So Much Significance..

SACRIFICE MAKE WAY FOR THE ANOINTING!!

GOD USES OUR SACRAFICIAL GIVING TO ANOINT HIS PURPOSE WHICH IS THE SAVING OF SOULS!!

ANOTHER SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF ALBASTER JAR…

The Stone was the Same Stone That was only Allowed to be place in the Alter of the Lord in the Temple.

Designed  AND DISIGNATED for Worship

But it Was An Perfumed Oil (Nard) Once Place

-       Release an Amazing Fragrance

-       Medicinal Elements

Overall This was more than Gratitude… the Disciple where grateful..

·      Gratitude does not pay the bills.

Giving Displays To spirit Of God

The Worth Of Your Worship…

This Women

-Sacrificial given is your legacy

IT IS A WONDER HOW THE MAJORITY OF THE DISCIPLE WOULD SAY…

“WHAT A WASTE”

Why because at this point the Disciple were more on he receiving end..

Teaching, Fish, housing extra.

At this point it was good to follow Jesus because it costed them little.

The Were More Takers and Givers..

We Must Be Aware Of Being Church Takers..  about coming to Church

They Take a Seat

Take a bow

They Take s note

They Take a coffee

Then Take off!

They Take Everything but The world For Jesus!

“WHAT A WASTE”

-      Sacrificial Giving Makes No Sense

-      Sacrificial giving does not make monetary/Financial sense.

-      One gives to a even painfully point that does not make numerical sense, and it can “hurt” financially.

-      BUT, it does make monetary sense!

-      God promises to provide, even in our generosity, and encourages us to test Him in this (Mal. 3).

-      Sacrificial giving is risky!

o   It reduces or eliminates your safety net. This is where faith comes into play! Trusting God for your daily bread and your future needs.

In view of this we are told that "we are never called upon to make a real sacrifice for God,"

-     Our Hearts Search for a Place to be soothed and even sueded

-     Soothed You Fine, everything is fine

-     Sueded Christ Is Not the Only Greatest purpose.

-      Randy Alcorn had this to say about sacrificial giving…

o   “A disciple does not ask, “How much can I keep?” but, “How much more can I give?” Whenever we start to get comfortable with our level of giving, it’s time to raise it again.” (Money, Possessions, and Eternity).

Randy Alcorn states in his book “Money Possessions, and Eternity” this:

  • “There are three levels of givingless than our ability, according to our ability, and beyond our ability. It’s fair to say that 96% percent of Christians in the Western world give less than their ability. Perhaps another 3% percent or more give according to their ability, and less than 1% percent give beyond their ability.”

  • “What does it mean to give beyond our ability? It means to push our giving past the point where the figures add up. It means to give when the bottom line says we shouldn’t. It means to give away not just the luxuries, but also some of the necessities. It means living with the faith of the poor widow. For most of us, giving according to our means would stretch us. Giving beyond our means would appear to break us. But it won’t—because we know God is faithful.”

Does sacrificial giving always/only have a “spiritual” connection?

-      There are certainly times when our sacrificial giving can be directed towards meeting material needs.

-      We are all Gods Servants

-      We have been given a mission to care for, cultivate, and steward the world God has given us.

THE CAUSE HAS A COST!!!

GOD BLESSING A PEOPLE AND A CHURCH WHO PERFORMES SACRAFICIAL GIVING..

CAN I GET A LITTLE DEEP HERE…

ABOUT 80 YEARS AGO.. This world was totally different..

A PREACHED A MESSAGE TO REMEMBER…

“Blessing of Sacrificial Giving”

The World Would Become a Materialist Shallow World.

The very experience of giving is designed of God to accomplish a distinctly necessary work in the heart of those who have a part in the work of self-denial and following Jesus sacrifice for the cause of God.

THIS NEW WORLD (MATERILSTIC WORLD) Industrial Revelotiion Women Began to leave homes and go work..

"Covetousness, (materialism/having more than we need)   selfishness, love of money, and love of the world, are all through the ranks of Trust God Provision vs Workholics. These evils are destroying the spirit of sacrifice among God's people."— 1938

-       The opportunity of giving to meet the needs of the poor, or for the support of the cause of God, is designed of God to do a work of grace in the heart.

-       It is His will that in giving, self will be dethroned, the attitude of self-serving will be lost from our lives, and our hearts will go out in sympathy and service for others. This is Heaven's spirit and plan.

Of this we read:

"Our Redeemer, who knew man's danger in regard to materialism has provided a safeguard against this dreadful evil. He has arranged the plan of salvation so that it begins and ends in generosity. Christ offered Himself, an infinite sacrifice. This, in and of itself, bears directly against materialism covetousness and exalts generosity.

"Constant, self-denying generosity is God's remedy for the cankering sins of selfishness and materialism. God has arranged systematic generosity to sustain His cause and relieve the necessities of the suffering and needy.

He has ordained that giving should become a habit, that it may counteract the dangerous and deceitful sin of materialism.

Continual giving starves materialism to death."

for in the experience of self-denial comes a ministry of grace in the heart, which more than compensates for any material loss or hardship.

Every sacrifice made for Christ enriches the giver, and every suffering and privation endured for His dear sake increases the overcomer's final joy in heaven."—Id., Vol. IV, p. 219.

Enclosing How Do We Apply this to Practical Living..

Conflicts/TENSION  Between

Wise BUDGETER Stewardship & Sacrificial Giver

There is a tension between wise financial Budgeter and giving more than you can afford to give.

Two Example one Christ Give us..

The widow’s mite

  • “As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “I tell you the truth,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” (Luke 21:1–4, NIV84)

Second Is Given Paul Lived Extremely Sacrificial Life..

Give beyond their ability

  • We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints—and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us.” (2 Corinthians 8:1–5)

  • When to do sacrificial giving?

  • When God is directing you to do so!

  • When you are meeting a Kingdom need!

  • When NOT to do sacrificial giving.

  • If it is for “showing off” to others.

  • If it is not done “out of love” for others and toward God!

Randy Alcorn

Is it ever okay for you to give in a way that limits your ability to save and invest for the future? (yes!)

  • You need to use wisdom…

  • It should not be a knee-jerk reaction.

  • Give yourself a little time to use prayer and discernment.

Randy Alcorn EXORTS US..

  • There are times when financial Budgeting can become an idol. keeping us from fidelity to Christ and the church.

  • We, in the name of Good Budgeting/Stewardship can be simply building bigger barns rather than building a bigger kingdom of God.

  • If we feel uncomfortable with certain texts in scripture, maybe it is because we are afraid to go without.

  • Perhaps it is because we are really trusting in our own wisdom and ability to save and invest rather than in God’s promise to provide all our needs.

It is GOD SAYING… “GO into debt for the “glory of God”?

-      We don’t do what the Bible teaches to live conservatively.

-      We give more than we can afford to give “TO OUR LIFESTYLE” but instead of cutting back lifestyle, we finance the lifestyle with debt.

THAT IS NOT WHAT GOD SAYS…

-      Sacrificial giving is to go without something that is good in order to give to a need or cause.

-      It is sacrificing a desired lifestyle to support God’s work/kingdom.

-       It’s not going into debt for the “glory of God”.

What if I have low income? Does a small tithe count as sacrificial giving?

Here is a great question that we receive often: For low income and/or high debt individuals who can barely afford to pay their bills, does a small “tithe” ‘qualify’ as sacrificial giving?

For some, a 5% “tithe” may feel sacrificial. (NOTE: Is Sacrificial giving more of a ‘heart’ orientation rather than an amount given?)

Here’s our response:

  • First of all, a “tithe” is nothing less than 10% of earnings.

  • So, anything less than that can not be called a “tithe”…just look at it as giving unto the Lord as you work your way up to “tithing.”

  • Sacrificial giving as a “heart orientation.”

  • Yes, it is a heart orientation.

  • Yes, it is an amount given.

  • And this giving is BEYOND what one can afford to give.

  • It is not off the top (that is the tithe).

  • It is not an “offering” that is somewhat above the tithe.

  • It is a gift, a sacrifice to the bottom-line of the person’s financial means, current plans/lifestyle and/or future.

  • It is trusting God that He will provide in the future as you dip into what you have saved.

What are some hindrances to sacrificial giving?

  • Trust – Do you trust God’s providences or your own paychecks?

  • Debt – income being owned by another…lack of control over your own expenditures

  • Ownership – Do you believe that YOU OWN what you have…or are you the steward?

  • Idolatry – love of the world/money

Are all believers to do sacrificial giving?

  • All believers are to tithe.

  • All believers are to give offerings above and beyond their tithe (to people, and ministries)

  • All believers are to consider and process sacrificial giving.

  • But, ONLY those that are CALLED by God are to give in a way that impacts their current and/or future bottom line.

  • Remember, in sacrificial giving, there is a HUGE trust factor! The one giving sacrificially is giving in a way that impacts their life both today and tomorrow!

ENCLOSING..

Even with sacrificial giving, you can NEVER out-give God!  He will see your generosity, and through the promise of His Word, He will take care of you and will meet all of your needs!

THERE IS SEASON OF SACRIFICE..

-       I AM HERE TO ANNOUCE IN FAITH …. WE ARE NOW IN THAT SEASON….
